It seems like a centre that facilitates an incredibly diverse range of activities.
What’s particularly interesting to me, and something I wish to follow up on, is that the basis of the project was and is friendship - friendship first. Money, they say, is the point where friendship starts. All of the people who earn money while living in the community pay their money into the central account and claim expenses as they need them. They operate with shared decision making.
Activities of the project include a street circus company, a bakery, a cultural centre, and a free school.
It started as an all-in-one business model and has developed into an umbrella network of interdependent organisations.
